Every sixer at WC to help unprivileged kids

Every sixer at WC to help unprivileged किड्स

New Delhi: Delhi's batsmen--Virendra Sehwag and Virat Kohli--who smashed seven sixes in the opening match yesterday not only gave a joyful moment to cricket lovers but to many underprivileged children, too.

For the 10 sixes that were hit in the very first match of the ICC World Cup between India and Bangladesh, Reliance Life Insurance would be donating Rs 2.5 lakh to around 300 underprivileged children.

In an interesting philanthropic initiative for fighting illiteracy, the private sector insurer will contribute Rs 25,000 for every 'six' scored in the World Cup.

Going by the number of sixes hit by the batsmen during the last World Cup four years ago, there could be 'sixes' worth close to Rs one crore in the international tournament that began on February 19 due to the initiative.
